Stark entered the usual Tim Horton’s down the block from his place. The best thing about his day was heading over to sit, drink and enjoy his time in the small back corner of the store. Most days he would bring a book or write, others he would sit and watch people. His favorite thing to do was people watching. Today he sipped on a Cold Brewed coffee, crossing his legs as he casually scanned around the busy shop. It was at the slow peak of the day, the employees busy as they cleaned and stocked for the next rush, the few customers sitting about at the smaller tables chatting away with deep conversations.

Looking away, Stark took a deep sip of his cold beverage when he noticed a small note written just on the corner.

Hey cutie ❤

Stark shot his eyes up around the room. Was this for him? No one caught his eye as he let out a small sigh. This message could have been for anyone. After contemplating it, he finally pulled out a pencil from his bag and wrote a message back.

Why thank you 😉

How juvenile to write on a table. It made Stark feel like a kid again. With that, he cut his day short and headed home. Over the course of the week, he had returned eagerly to have his mystery conversation. Few words scrawled on the table became paper notes left behind. Some days Stark would have to wait until the next note appeared. It was normal since the person would have time off from work. Who was his secret admirer? Stark decided to write a note and leave it behind for the person at the counter.

Meet me at the usual time on Saturday.

Stark was anxious, waiting till the day had come. He knew his admirer usually had the day off since he never got a note that day. Nervously he tapped on the table. He didn’t even order his drink because his stomach flipped so much.

“Here’s your Vanilla Cold Brew Coffee, Sir.”

Stark turned perplexed at the voice. “I’m sorry, I didn’t order anything.”

There Stark’s eyes met with the boy holding his coffee. He offered a brilliant smile, waiting for him to take the coffee.

“I know. You order this every day you come in. I’ve been serving you the entire time. I’m glad we finally could meet in person.”

Stark’s heart fluttered. He was gorgeous! He grabbed the coffee with his one hand, then reached out to shake it with his other. “Stark.”

“Brian.”

Brian sat down across from him, blushing a little as he scratched at the back of his head.

“I am sorry I didn’t approach you before. I was scared you wouldn’t like me.”

Stark smiled sweetly. “After getting to know you from our conversation, how could I not?”

Leaning in over his fist, Stark was happy to have his first date. They laughed and talked well into the night.

The end.
